005 entitled ‘Afterburner’ is the latest EP from Duotone.
Released in may 2008 in digital format only. |
 |
First off is title track Afterburner, which combines melodies
that would probably have worked well on a Border Community release
as well, accompanied by a more straightforward groove, and Pressure
Cooker, which is a sizzling, hypnotic peaktime affair.
Duotone is an up-and-coming production duo and live act of Dutch origin,
that is currently making waves with a string of releases on international
outlets. With forthcoming tracks on labels including Deep and SAW,
in a joint venture with Parisean houselegend DJ Yellow, their presence
has not gone by unnoticed. With a host of live and dj gigs lined up,
the duo has just finished their liveset and is taking their productions
onto the road, employing state of the art technology such as the Lemur
touch screen controller whilst playing live.
Remixes for the release come from Earth bookings own roster, featuring
a warm and lush techy remix of the title track by Estroe, who has
picked up serious street credibility with her releases on labels including
Connaisseur, Neuton and her own Eevonext. In fact, she was recently
featured as the MixMag tune of the month through a release with Zoe
Xenia.
Onno and Rooco Mundo further raise the temperature on Pressure Cooker,
transforming it into a serious weapon for the dancefloor. This duo
has also built up a credible rep, through a steady stream of quality
releases on respected labels including Stealth, Little Mountain and
Dekay Records.

Earth,
the Dutch party organization that has given upfront parties for 7
years now,
is continuing the history with vinyl releases.
The concept is straightforward: a great track from a young producer
from
the Netherlands on one side, and a remix of a Dutch dj-hero on the
other side.
These artists perform regularly on Earth and represent the Dutch dancefloors.
Earth presents the finest Dutch talents, on vinyl and mp3.
